Emily Adkins Blood Clot Awareness Month

Posted

October marks Emily Adkins Blood Clot Awareness Month, and Emily's Promise is proud to launch a new life-saving poster initiative in memory of Douglas and Janet Adkins' daughter Emily, who tragically passed away at the age of 23 due to a pulmonary embolism.

Their poster project is aimed at educating staff and patients in healthcare facilities across Florida about the dangers of venous thromboembolism (VTE), which includes deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).

"These posters provide clear, essential information on what VTE is, the warning signs of DVT and PE, and the critical moments when urgent care is needed. By raising awareness and empowering caregivers to take swift action, we hope to prevent unnecessary deaths and save lives," says Douglas Adkins.

All care facilities are invited to display these posters prominently and join the Adkinses in the fight against blood clots. Visit Emily's Promise to download posters for your facility.

Help make a lasting impact in preventing blood clot-related tragedies.
